Mortuus
Among the sharp peaks of the tundra mountains, Mortuus is a bustling city of innovation, invention, and progress itself. They work tirelessly to make the kingdom truly the strongest and most reliable of all. Learning and studying is most important from a very young age, the eldest and most experienced being seen as high residents- the Shadow Queen herself being among the sharpest of minds.
History:
- Periods/Eras in time
- War arc (At least 10 years ago)
- The Reign of the Shadow Queen (Started at least 20 years ago)

- Current State
- Peaceful but tense.
- Civil war in a sense, preparing for a war that seems inevitable
- How does time work
- Regularly, months being called moons by civilians and the like
Economy:
- Economy working on?

- The Tale of the two brothers (Two brothers that each rivaled the other in the powers of dark and light, starting the two kingdoms we know today)
- Primary Tenets/ Ideals
- A belief that power and the will to learn is the utmost symbol of strength
- Changing and adapting but still gathering under the one true royal family
- How do religions clash
- The clash with the ‘foolishness’ of the Claralux Kingdom’s religion quite a bit, as they believe it promotes weakness
Magic System:
- The limits
- Soft System/ strengths come with drawbacks and the like. Those born in the kingdom Mortuus can have specific powers handed down to them via teachings, not genetically. However, many can often be more talented than others in learning the shadow arts, earning them more prowess among the locals
- Magical abilities (Those taught in Mortuus)
- Crystal Imbuement- the ability to imbue crystals and ores with shadow magic, the includes shadow core making
- Much knowledge and practice must be shown to work with this type of magic, and the crystals may only do what shadow magic can. Having crystals like this will lessen the drawbacks of shadow magic, but the crystals themselves are heavy to carry around.
- Shadow magic- the ability to manipulate shadows. This includes moving them, turning them into creatures, and ‘flowing’ in them
- Light will affect how much the shadows can be manipulated. This also takes much concentration, or the shadows will attack the user instead
- Dark transformation- The ability to take a Shadow core and eat it, giving you the ability to turn into the soul the Shadow Core held
- Eating too many of these will cause the user to lose their sanity and memories
- What can be achieved with this magic
- War crimes OwO
- Building and doing different tasks
- How does magic interact with society
- The amount of magic you know, dictates how useful you are to society
Executive:
- System of Government
- Monarchical Oligarchy (Ruled by the Shadow Queen and her family members, with a few royal advisors)
- Who has the power
- The Shadow queen (Main ruler) / Calaphus ShadowWalker (The General of the armies)
- How are laws created
- By dictation of the queen and her advisors
- Law enforcement system
- Shadow crawlers (Sorcerers who hide in the shadows and watch for laws to be broken.
Topography:
- How does the territory look?
- Tundra mountains/ pine forests/ glaciers/ clear water
- Natural resources
- Ice. . . lots of it/ quartz, labradorite, amethysts, obsidian, smoky quartz (Often used for Shadow Cores)
- Furs from native animals
- Location vs Survival?
- Civilians would constantly need warm clothes, depending heavily on local fauna with large hides of fur
- Wood would also be needed for fires (Of which are blue or purple/ really powerful attack fire being black with a white glow)
Inhabitants:
- Intelligent races in this society/ part of the world?
- Many are human/humanoid species
- Some having the features of dark creatures such as demons, dragons, and others
- How do these races live?
- They live codependently to learn from one another and thrive. As long as they are a citizen of Mortuus, they are friends. However, power will most likely be a factor in how much of a friend they are.

- Fear of the Shadow queen and Shadow crawlers
- Effect on the world
- The fear of Shadow magic and Shadow cores
Society:
- Most important people in Kingdom
- The Shadow queen herself, the royal family, royal advisors, elders who hold the most power and wisdom (Children are shunned for being ignorant and taught to grow up fast)

- Ill-taught children/ those unable to learn and improve quickly
- How do classes co-exist
- Working in service to the shadowqueen
